Community Outreach and Engagement

Since 2014, our Speakers Bureau has been at the heart of our community engagement efforts, delivering a wide range of gardening and home horticulture topics to audiences throughout Davidson County. One of our key partnerships is with the Nashville Public Library (NPL) Seed Exchange. Through this collaboration, we offer a series of workshops at various library branch locations, bringing expert gardening advice directly to the public.

These workshops cover everything from vegetable gardening and sustainable practices to flower gardening and soil health. They are designed to educate and inspire gardeners of all levels. The NPL Seed Exchange workshops are regularly featured on our website's calendar and the NPL Seed Exchange Facebook page, making it easy for community members to stay informed about upcoming events.

Educational Programs for Everyone

Our Speakers Bureau extends beyond the library, providing free programs and workshops in partnership with various community organizations throughout the Metro Nashville area. These sessions are tailored to meet the needs of different audiences, from novice gardeners to experienced horticulturists, ensuring that everyone has access to valuable gardening knowledge.

We cover a wide range of topics, including:

  • Sustainable gardening practices
  • Home gardening education
  • Environmental stewardship tips
  • Urban gardening techniques
  • Flower gardening
  • Vegetable gardening
  • Soil health and composting
