Renew or Transfer Your Membership

Renew Your Membership:

Are you a Certified Tennessee Extension Master Gardener (TEMG) volunteer looking to renew your membership? We offer two options for returning volunteers: reactivation and reinstatement.

Reactivation Policy:

If you previously submitted a Leave of Absence Form and wish to return to active volunteer status, you can request reactivation. Simply complete the Reactivation Form and submit it along with a signed TEMG volunteer Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to the TEMG county coordinator. You'll need to complete 25 volunteer service hours, eight continuing education hours, and pay any local association membership dues (if required) within one year to regain Certified TEMG status.

Reinstatement Policy:

If you didn't take a leave of absence but want to return to the program, you can request reinstatement. Complete the Reinstatement Form and submit it along with a signed TEMG volunteer MOA to the TEMG county coordinator. Your reinstatement request will be reviewed and approved by the county coordinator and local TEMG association. If it has been five or more years since you were a Certified TEMG volunteer, auditing the intern class will be required. After approval and auditing (if necessary), complete 25 volunteer service hours, eight education hours, and pay any local association membership dues (if required) within one year to regain Certified TEMG status.

Transfer Your Membership:

Out-of-State Transfer:

If you're a certified Extension Master Gardener volunteer from another state and want to transfer your membership to us, you can do so by completing the Transfer Form. Provide proof of completion and enrollment in an out-of-state program, audit the Tennessee Extension Master Gardener course organized by your local county coordinator, complete 25 volunteer service hours within one year, and meet other requirements outlined in the Transfer Form.

County-to-County Transfer:

Certified TEMG volunteers in good standing can transfer to another county TEMG group or association by completing the Transfer Form and submitting it to the county coordinator of the group where you intend to transfer. Your volunteer service and education hours will begin accruing in the new county, while project-related hours will remain in the historical files of the previous county.
